Shelley and Craig’s Victorian townhouse in Chelmsford needed a full rethink to suit modern family life.
RJA Building & Maintenance Ltd was appointed to carry out a comprehensive renovation and extension, bringing the property up to a higher standard while keeping its original character.
What needed solving
The home needed more usable space and a layout that worked better day to day.
The brief focused on opening up the property, improving flow between rooms and creating practical spaces that would support family life more comfortably.
What we built
The project included a full house refurbishment, along with a rear extension and a loft conversion to maximise living space.
At the centre of the transformation was a new open-plan kitchen, designed to become the heart of the home. A new downstairs bathroom and utility room were also added to improve everyday convenience.
Upstairs, the renovation introduced a modern family bathroom along with two en-suite bathrooms, giving each family member more privacy and comfort.
The result
The finished project brought the Victorian property up to date while keeping its original charm.
